Hello Everyone, I hope the recent rains are not disrupting harvest too badly and that you have the majority of your crop off. The AAFC Entomology team is looking for help in monitoring and collecting insects from stored wheat, barley or oats. The time and effort on your end looks to be minimal (not near as involved as Midge Busters 🙂). If you want to get an idea of what pests might be lurking in your bins, check this pamphlet. If you wish to participate, please contact Elaine Martineau at AAFC directly at elaine.martineau@agr.gc.ca or 431-293-9067. Best wishes for the rest of your harvest season - we look forward to seeing you at the fall business meetings! Sincerely, Todd Hyra |
