To all Western SeCan Members, As discussed during our 2022 fall business meetings, and as directed by the SeCan Board of Directors, SeCan is working with Seeds Canada and other industry partners to create greater awareness of PBR and support the sale of pedigreed seed. Over the next few months you will see ads similar to the one below on social media, in the farm press, as well as the three western Provincial Seed Guides. We realize that as local independent retailers you are a neighbour to your customers – but you are a legitimate retailer of these products. The ads are intended for you to start the discussion with your customers about the benefits of pedigreed seed, and the fact that under PBR ’91, unauthorized sales, purchases and use are all a violation – it is like using stolen property.
