Reporting season is upon us - this means that in addition to fee reporting, VUA and Midge Tolerant Wheat Stewardship reports are also due. Some dates to keep in mind: Midge Tolerant Wheat Stewardship - Stewardship Agreements are due by June 30, 2025. This means if you sold midge tolerant wheat to a farmer customer, it needs to be entered into the stewardship system. If you have wholesale transactions, your wholesale business needs to be entered as well. Seeds Canada has informed us there are 465 MTW retailers in the system but as of today, only 119 retailers have entered sales since November 2024. Thank you if you are one of the 119!!! If not, please get your customers signed up before June 30. VUA reporting is due by August 30 - Please return the attached reconciliation spreadsheet to seed@secan.com by August 30, 2025 (easiest to do this and submit at the time you are submitting your fees report to SeCan). I cannot stress this enough….if you wish to maintain access to Midge Tolerant Wheat and VUA varieties, compliance and reporting are required on or before the due dates as listed.
