Dear SeCan Members, Many of you heard the SeCan team talking about a new video series about plant breeding at the member meeting last fall. We’re excited to announce that On the Brink launched today! This series brings together perspectives from researchers, breeders, farmers, seed growers, industry leaders, and end users to highlight the long-term investment required to develop new crop genetics and the system that supports it. Episodes will be released regularly, beginning with the first installment “Everything Starts with the Seed”. The series takes a closer look at the people, the science, and the infrastructure behind the varieties that we all rely on every season – and how that work strengthens Canadian agriculture, one of our country’s most important economic drivers. SeCan is proud to support this collaborative initiative alongside a number of partners across the sector. We encourage you to watch and share the series through your networks as new episodes are released. You can watch the first episode HERE. Let us know what you think! Thanks, Jeff Reid
