Nominations for SeCan Board of Directors

SeCan will have an election for the Board of Directors at the 2023 Annual General Meeting - to be held virtually on July 5.  

The Board is comprised of 8 directors. 5 directors representing the provinces: Alberta & BC; Saskatchewan; Manitoba; Ontario; Quebec & Atlantic Canada. In addition, there are 3 directors-at-large: 2 representing the western region (MB, SK, AB, BC)) and 1 representing the eastern region (Atlantic, QC, ON).  

There will be three (3) calls for nominations via email and nominations will close 30 days prior to the AGM.  

The following directors have one year remaining to serve in their term: 

Ontario:

• Greg Hannam, Woodrill Ltd., Guelph, ON

Manitoba:

• Craig Riddell, Riddell Seed Co., Warren, MB

Alberta & BC:

• Ward Oatway, Oatway's Seed Farm, Clive, AB

Western Region (MB, SK, AB, BC):

• Peter Entz, Richardson, Winnipeg, MB  

These directors are up for election:  

Quebec & Atlantic Canada:

• Annie Bergeron, Semican, Princeville, QC – seeking re-election

Eastern Region (Atlantic, QC, ON):

• Rick Van Laecke, Horizon Seeds Canada Inc., Courtland, ON – seeking re-election Saskatchewan:
• Lyndon Olson, Seed Source, Archerwill, SK – seeking re-election

Western Region (MB, SK, AB, BC):

• Marnie McLean, JS Henry Seeds, Oak River, MB – seeking re-election  

The Nominating Committee has nominated each of the above directors seeking re-election for another term.  

Nominations will close on June 5, 2023. Voting will occur at the AGM.  

All nominees must sign a "Nominee Acceptance" form to be eligible for election.
