About this article
Hello Western SeCan Members,I am pleased to announce Ezri Oatway will be joining SeCan in September as the Marketing Representative for Alberta/British Columbia. Ezri is a University of Alberta grad with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, majoring in Agriculture and Resource Economics. She worked 4 summers at a Co-op retail location in Lacombe AB, and is currently working a term position for Olds College at the Crop Diversification Centre North as a Disease Nursery Technologist. She grew up on the family seed farm in Clive, Alberta – the Oatway family has been a SeCan member for over 40 years. Her grandfather Grant, was on the SeCan board and her dad Ward is a current board director. A solid seed pedigree! Ezri will join SeCan in early September when she wraps up her current role with Olds College. This position will be responsible for supporting Alberta/BC members in their sales and marketing efforts – giving Trent more time to focus on his passion – stock seed production, quality control, and distribution across western Canada. Lauren will expand her territory to cover the entire province of Saskatchewan, beginning September 2023. Brad will continue to support Manitoba members. Mira will leave SeCan in mid-August to pursue her new career as a teacher. Mira joined SeCan in the spring of 2018 and over that time has helped grow SeCan member businesses. She has been a critical part of the growth of the SeCan mentorship program. Her energy and enthusiasm will serve her well as she inspires the next generation in the classroom. Thanks Mira for your passion, knowledge, and the humour you shared over the past five years. We’ll miss you. Welcome to SeCan Ezri, and best wishes in your new career Mira! |
