It was great to have so many of you at our in-person member business meetings! For those who weren’t able to join us, there will be virtual sessions on December 14 and 15 – zoom links will be sent each morning. An online version of our Board survey of members will also be sent in December – similar to the one conducted at the in-person meeting. We’ll share the compiled results of these surveys in the new year. Your SeCan Board met last week in Granby, Quebec, where we made updates to governance policies and met with several business partners. Bayer CropScience provided an update on their Canadian licensing business and we visited with private seed developer Cerela in Saint-Hugues and seed processor Les Grains Semtech in St-Pie. It was an opportunity for SeCan Directors to better understand regional issues facing the sector and how new breeding technologies will allow more precise and rapid breeding progress in the future. This perspective helps the Board ensure our overall direction will be sustainable in the years ahead. As always, please don’t hesitate to contact any of us if you have comments or questions. |
