Nominations for SeCan Board of Directors

SeCan will have an election for the Board of Directors at the 2024 Annual General Meeting - to be held virtually on June 26. 

 The Board is comprised of 8 directors. 5 directors representing the provinces: Alberta & BC; Saskatchewan; Manitoba; Ontario; Quebec & Atlantic Canada. In addition, there are 3 directors-at-large: 2 representing the western region (MB, SK, AB, BC)) and 1 representing the eastern region (Atlantic, QC, ON).  

There will be three (3) calls for nominations via email and nominations will close 30 days prior to the AGM.  

The following directors have one year remaining to serve in their term: 

Quebec & Atlantic Canada:
Annie Bergeron, Semican, Princeville, QC 

Eastern Region (Atlantic, QC, ON):
Rick Van Laecke, Horizon Seeds Canada Inc., Courtland, ON

Saskatchewan:
Lyndon Olson, Seed Source, Archerwill, SK

Western Region (MB, SK, AB, BC):
Marnie McLean, JS Henry Seeds, Oak River, MB 

These directors are up for election: 

Ontario:
Greg Hannam, Woodrill Ltd., Guelph, ON – seeking re-election

Manitoba:
Craig Riddell, Riddell Seed Co., Warren, MB – seeking re-election

Alberta & BC:
Ward Oatway, Oatway's Seed Farm, Clive, AB – seeking re-election

Western Region (MB, SK, AB, BC): 
Peter Entz, Richardson, Winnipeg, MB – seeking re-election 

The Nominating Committee has nominated each of the above directors seeking re-election for another term.  

This is the FIRST of three email calls for nominations to the SeCan Board of Directors.  

Nominations will close on May 26, 2024. Voting will occur at the AGM.  

All nominees must sign a "Nominee Acceptance" form to be eligible for election.
