We are pleased to announce that Mathew Hooyer has joined SeCan as the Product Development Lead for eastern Canada. Matt will replace Willie Vanderpol and take on much of her previous role in working with our plant breeding and licensing partners. We wish Willie all the best in her new position with Hoffsuemmer Grains near St. Thomas. Mathew Hooyer (Matt) brings extensive expertise to SeCan, gained over the past 13 years in product development and soybean breeding with Syngenta, where he worked on both food-grade and traited soybeans. In his new role at SeCan, he will be responsible for product development and providing valuable support to both SeCan members and retailers. Matt’s diverse background – including agronomy and sales – has given him a deep appreciation of the agricultural industry, making him well-positioned to help grow SeCan’s business. Matt and Shannon will be travelling together over the coming weeks as Matt gets to know more SeCan members and breeding partners.
