Hello Western SeCan Members, The application deadline for these products is January 20, 2025. AAC Fedak is a high yielding, white hulled milling oat with short strong straw, medium maturity and crown rust resistance. AAC Fedak performed especially well in the Black Soil Zones in registration trials. AAC Frontier is an exciting new durum - the first CWAD developed and selected for ergot resistance!! Added to the ergot resistance is a best-in-class disease package including an intermediate resistance to FHB (equal to AAC Schrader), excellent grain yield potential, high protein similar to AAC Schrader, and shorter stronger straw than AAC Schrader. CDC Huskie is a very high yielding green field pea with a “good” rating for seed coat bleaching and seed coat breakage. CDC Huskie also has a medium seed size, medium maturity and medium vine length combined with good lodging tolerance, and a moderately resistant rating to Fusarium wilt. The CDC Huskie release is unique in that it’s only for areas outside Saskatchewan. In Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan Pulse Growers retain the marketing rights to CDC Huskie, so seed should be sourced through them or local seed growers. HY2152 is a very high yielding CPSR with short strong straw and an excellent disease resistance package. HY2152 should be a good fit for all CPSR growing regions of western Canada.
