Just a reminder that the best time to have customers sign Stewardship Agreements and a VUA is prior to seed moving. The next best time is now!
All 2026 Midge Tolerant Wheat Stewardship Agreements (retail and wholesale) and VUA Purchase Agreements (retail only) are due by June 30, 2026.
For those of you who have all your MTW and VUAs in place, a sincere thank you. For those not there yet, please get these in place with your customers immediately. After customers pick up their seed it can be difficult to track them down.
The MTW Stewardship and VUA are part of our obligation to our plant breeding partners. And hence, part of your obligation as a SeCan member.
For Midge Tolerant Wheat, this includes varieties like AAC Stoughton VB, AAC Wheatland VB, AAC Starbuck VB, AAC Paramount VB, AC Sadash VB (and others). For the VUA, this includes Esma barley, KWS Kellie barley and ORe BOOST oats.
