About this article

septembre 8, 2026

On behalf of the SeCan Board of Directors, I wish to inform you that our General Manager, Jeff Reid, has announced his intention to retire in early 2027. Jeff has served as SeCan’s General Manager since 2005 and has provided steady leadership through more than two decades of significant growth and evolution for the organization.

The Board has enjoyed a fantastic working relationship with Jeff and the exceptional team of professionals he has assembled at SeCan. We wish Jeff all the best in his coming retirement and we are committed to ensuring SeCan’s momentum continues well into the future.

With this planned transition, the SeCan Board has begun the search for a new General Manager. To support this important process, the Board has engaged HR resolve of Winnipeg, Manitoba, to assist in identifying qualified candidates and guiding the search.

The Board’s goal is to name Jeff’s successor by the end of 2026, allowing for a thoughtful and seamless transition throughout early 2027. This timeline is intended to ensure continuity for SeCan’s members, staff, partners, and stakeholders, while supporting a thoughtful transition into the organization’s next chapter.

In sharing his plans, Jeff reflected on what this year means to him:

“As I look ahead to retirement, I’m incredibly proud of what SeCan has accomplished and grateful to the members, partners, directors, and staff who have been part of that journey. Reaching our 50th anniversary makes this an especially meaningful time to reflect on how far the organization has come. I look forward to celebrating this milestone together at our regional fall business meetings, and I hope to see many of you there.”

— Jeff Reid, General Manager, SeCan

Further details about the recruitment process will be shared as they become available. In the meantime, the Board encourages anyone who may know of strong potential candidates to please reach out to Patti Mckenzie - patti.mckenzie@hr-resolve.ca, and to watch for the formal posting and share it within their networks.

Sincerely,
